Wind energy
Wind energy is an environment friendly zero emission type of energy.
This is one of the possible solutions and an answer to the question: what next…?
This solution follows the model used by Contino Wind Group, namely:
Energy – Ecology – Effectiveness.
The global capacity or potential of wind energy is considered to be equal to electric energy demand. Currently, wind power generation installations account for 94,000.00 MW. Germany is the largest market (approximately 22.500 MW), the United States has approximately 17,000 MW and Spain 15,000 MW. In Denmark wind generation amounts to 20 % of the national demand for electric energy, in Spain 9 % and in Germany 7 %. Totally in 25 Member States of the European Union 3.3 % of the demand for electric energy is covered by wind generation.
The development of wind energy is one of the strategic instruments of the implementation of climate policy. Combating climate change resulting from high quantities of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, energy saving and a considerable growth of energy production from renewable energy sources are key elements of the European Union’s political and economic doctrine expressed in the 3 x 20 package of March 2007.
As a Member State of the European Union, Poland must contribute to actions aimed at combating climate change as well as abide by international obligations resulting from the Kioto Protocol and from the Accession Treaty. This contribution must be reflected not only in the national policy strategies and in the country’s legal system but mainly in the current activities performed by the administration, entrepreneurs and NGO’s. Progressively decreasing costs of wind energy production and more and more advanced technical energy generation equipment indicate that this renewable source of energy may be perceived as a significant element of the implementation of sustainable development strategy.
